Recent update on CA Articleship exam:

This Exam test is open to students who have already taken it and want to see if they can improve their score or grade. Students who enrolled for previous exams but were unable to present for any reason can also register for this one.

Students, Please note that this carefully:

• Students who finished their second year of practical training between July and September of 2019 may only try this exam one more.
• The Students who have completed the first year of training within this time frame are their last opportunity to sit for the Level 1 exam, and they must wait another year before reapplying for a Level 2 test date.
• The Students who have qualified for both levels can choose which one they want to register for throughout the registration process.
• After taking Level 2, however, students will be restricted from retaking Level 1 exams unless they enroll for the next level.

Students can appear for tests anywhere, even in their homes, using a Home-Based Test, as long as the environment is relaxed. A qualified proctor sits at a distant location and keeps an eye on the applicants audio, video, and screen sharing feeds in real-time.

The Objective Of The CA Articleship Assessment Exam?

• Students in CA foundation and intermediate have passed an exam to see how well they understand the concepts taught in class. The ICAI now wants to check students practical skills.
• To get high Chartered Accountants and reduce the number of dummy articles, there is a CA Articleship test. Students are free to opt-out of taking this test.

Eligibility Requirements For ICAI CA Articleship Exam:

• Students must have completed the practical training assessment exam at least the first and second years of classroom instruction to take the practical training exam.
• For example, a student who completes their first/second year of practical training between April and June of 2018 will be required to take the relevant examination until March of the following year[2019].
• While passing the CA Final examination before this one, they will be eligible to appear for this one only until the results are announced since their final grade will be included in their mark sheet for that exam as well.
• Before April 1, 2018, for students who finished their first year of practical training, a first-level test is not mandatory for them to take. After the second year of practical training, they must, nevertheless, appear for the second-level examinations.

Way To Fill Out The Application?

• ICAI Ptt test application is to be submitted online. Also, theres no need to bring anything to the Institutes office, including a printed copy of the application form.
• Keep the hard copy for your records, however, at least until the release of admit cards.

Steps For Filling Out Online Application Form?

This procedure has two steps:

Step 1: 

• Open the portal and log in.
• The candidate should go to https://pttest.icai.org/ and take the test.
• Student Registration Number and Date of Birth as per ICAI records must be entered in the Login box on the main page after clicking on the Login link.
• All these details will be validated with the database of candidates. The candidate will be unable to register for the exam if these details filled in the login box are not authenticated.
• The applicant will complete the application by providing the requested information and uploading an image and a digital signature.
• Images must be sent in jpeg or jpg format. The picture must not exceed 50KB in size. Dots should not be used in the filenames (e.g., Incorrect naming K.P.Goyal.jpeg, Correct naming KPGoyal.jpeg)

 Step 2:

 Candidates are advised to verify the status of their application by clicking on the link "Login" to see if the portal has properly collected their submission.

How Will The Admit Cards Be Released?

• 5 days before the exam, applicants will be able to access their Admit Card on this portal, and they should take a printout of it.
• There will be no admit cards sent out in the mail.

What Is The Exam Fee?

• Examinees submitting their first time application—No charges
• There is a fee of Rs. 200 for students who are applying for the exam a second or third time in order to improve their performance grades.

What Would Be The Distribution Of Grades?

Students marks will be determined by how well they do on the assessment, i.e., performance-based grading.

Exam Questions Would Be Objective Or Subjective?

• There will be 75-mark Objective Type MCQ-based questions in the first-level exam and 100-marks in the second-level exam
• There will be no reading time and negative marking in the exam.
• Candidates are advised to be at the exam site at least 30 minutes before the scheduled start time.
• Candidates who are more than 15 minutes late will not be admitted. Until the test is completed, candidates are not allowed to leave the testing venue.

• Subjects like Accounting and Auditing (as well as business law) are required for your practical examination. Additionally, students must select one of three optional modules from the first level by their field of practical training specialization.

When is the Articleship Exam for CAs?

Students are advised to note that: 

• Fill out the test form as soon as the online application form is available and as soon as feasible after that.     
• As a result, youll have to select two cities from your list of choices to sit for the test.
