To tackle this issue, you have to follow a proper strategy that helps you be consistent. So we are providing you with core tips on how you can make a paper preparation strategy for the final exams in May 2026.

Creating an Effective Study Plan:

Creating an effective study plan helps you boost your study time. If you have a proper and effective study plan, then you can definitely cover the syllabus within the time range.

The following key points will help you understand how you can make your study plan effective:

  • Assess the Syllabus and Prioritise Topics: Understand the weightage of each topic and prioritise your studies accordingly. You can divide the syllabus into ABC form. (A) for high priority topics, (B) for medium priority, and (C) for low priority chapters.
  • Set Realistic Goals: The syllabus is divided into manageable sections; set daily, weekly, and monthly goals for covering each topic without any hustle. Give you 60% of the time to prioritise chapters (A).
  • Allocate Time for Revision: Ensure your study plan includes ample time for revision before the exams. After revising every topic, make sure to give a self-mock. If you feel that some topics still need revision, then you can revise each topic twice or thrice. But make sure to give a mock for every topic, as it builds confidence.

Recommended Study Materials and Resources:

Do not rush for too many resources, as it may lead to confusion only. Try to choose one or two trustworthy resources. You can watch videos on YouTube to clarify a topic. Also, make handwritten, precise notes. There are some resources mentioned below that will help you:

  • ICAI Study Material and Practice Manuals: The CA exams are conducted by the ICAI. You can follow the study material provided by the ICAI. These are comprehensive and should be your primary resource.
  • Reference Books by Renowned Authors: The reference books are usually written by CA experts. Use these for additional practice and understanding.
  • Online Resources and Video Lectures: Utilise these for difficult topics and quick revisions. You can also make short notes from these video lectures. It will help in quick revision sessions.

Time Management Tips:

Between the massive syllabus, the mandatory articleships, and the pressure to stay updated with tax laws, time is your most valuable asset.

Here, we provide a roadmap to manage your time:

  • Create a Daily Schedule: Stick to a consistent study schedule. Divide your study time into three sections for up to 10 hours, 6hours for (A) category chapters, and 4 hours for (B) and (C) category chapters.
  • Avoid Procrastination: Stay disciplined and avoid distractions. Reduce your time on social media platforms.
  • Using Productivity Tools: Tools like timers and planners can help you manage your study time effectively.

Effective Study Techniques:

With the effective study techniques, you can build a strong base, followed by the final exams. To remember a topic for the long term, try active recall and spaced repetition.

  • Summarise What You Learn: Write short summaries of each topic. Write down important key points.
  • Teach Others: Explaining concepts to peers can reinforce your understanding.
  • Use Mnemonics: Create memory aids for complex concepts. Mnemonics are useful for students. It is like creating short tricks to remember a topic.
  • The Pomodoro Method: 25 minutes of learning and 5 minutes of break. After 4 Pomodoro sessions, you can take a 20-minute break.

Group Study Benefits and Methods:

Group studies are highly effective if you face problems in understanding a topic. Sometimes, a student easily understands a topic deeply through a friend s explanation instead of a teacher s.

  • Share Knowledge and Resources: Discussing with fellow students can provide new insights. One student can understand a topic better and can explain it to others in a simpler way.
  • Motivate Each Other: Studying in groups can keep you motivated and accountable. Seeing others work hard inspires everyone to give their best.
  • Solve Doubts Together: Clarify doubts and solve problems as a team. Solving problems as a team builds confidence and reduces the fear of exams. It also improves logical thinking and communication skills.
