Foundation Route - About CA Foundation Exam
Candidates can join the Chartered Accountancy Course either after the 12th or after the completion of graduation. The entry to the course after the 12th is the foundation route, and after graduation, it is the Intermediate route.
The aspirants who enter through the CA- Foundation route need to clear the exams to apply for CA-Intermediate.

CA-Foundation Course Online Exams July’22 - Dates to Remember, *the dates are subject to change given the present Covid situation.
To be eligible for CA-Foundation Registration, the aspirant must fulfill the eligibility criteria specified by the ICAI. The same is listed below. Any individual may register for Foundation Course after passing the 12th from a State or national board. The candidate may register for ICAI CA-Foundation when he is still studying his 12th, provided that he completes his 12th before appearing for the exams.
The candidate should register for the CA-Foundation course with the BOS before the last date. The student may appear for the exams only after four months after CA-Foundation Registration.

CA- Foundation Syllabus
The number of papers for CA-Foundation - 4 type questions.- Paper 1 and Paper 2 of the CA-Foundation course type questions for the Foundation course - Paper 3 and Paper 4marks per subject - 100 marks the maximum time for each paper - 3 hours marking - ¼ mark -Paper 3 and Paper 4, only. pass candidates must score a minimum of 40% marks on each paper of the Foundation course and a minimum aggregate of 50% of Examination in CA-Foundation - Offline (pen & paper)of Exam - English or Hindi. Section B of Paper 2 is to be answered only in English. The student must score a minimum of 40% in all the subjects and an aggregate score of 50% to clear CA-Foundation. You cannot apply for CA-Intermediate without passing the CA-Foundation Course.

In the CA-Foundation Exam, the syllabus is what the candidates have studied in the 11th and 12th. However, in the CA-Foundation Exam, the candidates need to answer it as per ICAI requirements.

Registration for 2022- CA-Foundation Course

Six Steps for CA-Foundation Course 2022 Registration
Register for the CA-Foundation 2022 in six easy steps.
(i) To register for the CA-Foundation Course, new users must visit the official website of CA-Foundation. Click on the link for the screen given below will display.

(ii) You will have to fill in the registration form, click on the Generate OTP icon, and fill in the captcha text. The OTP will be sent to your registered mobile number, and an email will be sent to your registered email ID for the email verification.
(iii) Use the OTP to validate the mobile number and complete the Login process. When the process is complete, your username and password will be sent in a message (SMS) or email. Click on the link to log in and complete the registration process by filling the form.
The screen will open to show a registration form.

You will have two options. Click on the Student Cycle icon on the left side of the screen. A new screen will open up where you must click on the Apply for Foundation icon. A window with a partially filled application form will appear- fill the application form with personal details such as date of birth, etc.

Fill up all the blank details with the relevant information and click on the - Save & Next icon to save the details.
The window of the application form opens to input education details.

(i) Details relating to the 12th standard - Roll Number, Board of Studies, Academic year of completion, and result inclusive of marks and percentage or CGPA.
(ii) The relevant document will have to be scanned and submitted. Scroll down for the list of documents to subheading Documents for CA- Foundation registration 2022.
(iii) Select the medium of the Exam as English or Hindi. Click on the Save & next icon.
You can upload a scanned (most recent) photograph of 21 cms width and 27 cms length. Your specimen signature on a blank paper and signed in only blue ink also should be scanned and uploaded. The entire file should either be in pdf or jpeg format - the size should not exceed 1 MB. If not, the Board of Studies will reject the application form.
Click on the Generate OPT icon and enter the same on the window that requests it.
Pay the registration fee through an online mode. The payment gateway will open up. You could choose to pay through a credit or debit card, VISA, MASTER, AND MAESTRO CARD as accepted. You may also choose to pay through online payment platforms like Razorpay and BHIM UPI or use the net banking facility.
The message that the payment is successful will display on the screen. The application form that was you just filled in is displayed.
The application form thus displayed is automatically generated. Print out two copies, one for your file and the other to be sent, with the documents to ICAI.
The ICAI will reciprocate by dispatching the study material through Centralized Dispatch System (CDS) to the registered candidates.
Documents to register for CA-Foundation Course
To register for CA-Foundation, organize the documents, scan them, and save them from retrieving, conveniently when required. You have to upload your scanned photograph and your specimen signature in the final stages of online registration.
Required Documents for registration of CA-Foundation
The required documents are listed below:
(i) Candidates need to submit the 10th Marks Card or Admit card that clearly states the date of birth and name of the candidate
(ii) There is a need to submit the Admit Card or Marksheet(attested) of the 12th of a recognized board of studies. You will need to attest it first.
(iii) Your latest photograph(colored) is to be affixed on the application form (hard copy) before posting the same to ICAI. Use the one which was scanned and uploaded during online registration
(iv) Foreign and Indian students must submit an attested copy of the proof of nationality
(v) If the student is from the SC/ST OBC or a differently-abled category, submit an attested copy of the proof of special category certificate
(vi) Post the hard copy of the duly filled-in registration form and the attested copy of the documents listed above to the ICAI.
ICAI CA-Foundation Registration 2022 Correction Window
The priority of ICAI is to hold the Foundation Exams with utmost caution for the safety of the candidates appearing for the CA Foundation 2021 exam. The provision is for the students who are appearing for CA- Foundation 2021 scheduled in August. The facility is to change the preferred city of their test center from the one stated on the online application form.
CA-Foundation Registration Fees
The CA- Foundation registration fees include the cost of Foundation prospectus, Foundation Registration Fee, Subscription for student’s Journal for one year (Optional), and Subscription for member’s Journal for One Year (Optional). Details of registration Fee for Indian nationals differs from international students. The fee for Indian nationals is 9800 (Rs), for foreign students USD 780.
The candidates have to register for the Foundation course before the last day. If you miss the registration date, you can register by paying the late fee.

Provisional Registration- CA-Foundation 2022 November Session
The ICAI has permitted the students Provisional Registration for those who have not completed the 12th in 2022. That is owing to the unprecedented situation due to the widespread CoronaVirus in India.
The provisional registration for CA-Foundation 2022(November) is permitted, only if,
(i) the student has a valid admit card and have appeared for at least one board exam.
(ii) Candidates who have not appeared for any board exam may produce an admit card issued by either the state or central board of exams in India.
(iii) The student will have to submit the scanned and attested copy of the admit card instead of the 12th mark sheet. Nevertheless, on the announcement of the results, the student must submit the 12th mark sheet.
(iv) age is not a barrier for aspirants to apply for the CA-Foundation course.
Important Dates for the Foundation 2022 November Session
Candidates have to register for the November CA Foundation exam before the deadline. The deadline for the CA-Foundation course is July 1, 2022.

You can check your CA-Foundation November 2022 registration by:
(i) the confirmation email at the end of the procedure.
(ii) check the status using the link - registration letter. The fact that you have access to the CA-Foundation registration letter confirms the registration.
Troubleshoot - Registration No. and Date of Birth you have entered do not match with our records.
Due to technical reasons, you may see the error message on the screen. Continue to register by opting - use a provisional registration number.
The ICAI will soon authenticate the same.
