Eligibility
Who can sit for CA Inter Jan 2027
Through the CA Foundation route
• A pass in the CA Foundation examination.
• Registration with ICAI for the Intermediate course.
• At least eight months of study after registration before you may sit the exam.
Through direct entry
• Commerce graduates and postgraduates with 55% aggregate.
• Other graduates and postgraduates with 60% aggregate.
• ICMAI or ICSI Intermediate qualified candidates are also eligible.
• Nine months of practical training or articleship completed before the exam.
Provisional registration
• Final-year graduation students may register provisionally.
• Proof of passing graduation with the required marks must be produced to be eligible for the exam.
Common mistakes to avoid
Writing the mock is easy. Writing it properly is the skill.
✕ Disregarding time management
Racing through easy questions and sinking into hard ones. Control the clock strictly during mocks — that is the point of them.
✕ Not mimicking exam conditions
A comfortable sofa at home does not prepare you for the pressure of the hall. Sit it like the real thing.
✕ Selective learning
Revising only your strong chapters builds a hidden gap. Use the mocks to find and attack the weak ones.
✕ Not reviewing errors
Checking your score is not analysis. Scrutinise every mistake, find the cause and learn the correct method.
✕ Overusing practice exams
