Eligibility

To take the examination in September 2026, candidates need to:

  • Be enrolled for the CA Foundation course up to or before May 1, 2026
  • Appear for Class 12 or be conditionally eligible after appearing for Class 12 Board Examinations (in such cases, candidates need to upload their Class 12 admit card or mark sheet on the Self Service Portal up to August 10, 2026)

How to Apply: Step-by-Step

1. Log in to the ICAI examination portal. Log in at icaiexam.icai.org. In case you have already filed any previous ICAI exam forms (Foundation, Intermediate, or Final), log in to your existing Single Sign-On account. New aspirants will register by using their registration number for the Foundation examination (example CRO0123456) with their date of birth, email ID, and phone number.

In case your registration number does not fetch any result, go ahead with the Provisional Candidate login. You will have to send your registration letter and related documents along with the form.

2. Filling out the form. On logging in, fill in the required personal details (name, gender, date of birth, father’s name, language of examination, exam group, region, and center preferences, and for specially abled aspirants, details of disability).

3. Upload Documents Where Required. In case your photograph and signature are not in the records of ICAI, you will have to print the form after making the payment, physically attach your photograph and signature, and get it certified from a CA member/gazetted official/head of your educational institute. The candidates who do not have their Certificate of Service in the records of ICAI will also have to scan and upload their Certificate (JPG/JPEG, 200 DPI, 100-200 KB) through “Declaration Certificate” in the dashboard.

In case your photograph and signature are present in the database of ICAI, there is no need for printing and certifying the document. Just keep a copy of the uploaded form.

4. Make Payment and Download Your Form Make your online payment and download the confirmation in PDF format (A4, Portrait). Keep the confirmation form for future use, whether or not physical submission is required.
