CA Inter September 2026 Result Analysis
ICAI publishes the official pass percentage and topper list along with the result. Until then, the May 2026 attempt is the best benchmark.
Group | Appeared | Passed | Pass % (2026) |
Group I | 100301 | 23210 | 23.14% |
Group II | 68400 | 12938 | 18.92% |
Both Groups | 38339 | 5066 | 13.21% |

Three points stand out from these numbers:
Both-group passing is the hardest. Clearing both groups in one attempt had the lowest success rate, at 8.47% in May 2026.
Group II did better than Group I. Group II had the higher pass percentage in May.
The application-based format is tough. Answers that tested concepts and application were rewarded, and answers based on memorising were not.
If there is no change in the pattern of the question paper or method of evaluation, then the September pass percentages will remain in single digits or in the teens, as was seen in the previous attempts. The pass percentage for the both-group examination will be under 15%. This is an estimation based on the trend and not an official figure.
The official figures from ICAI will supersede this estimate when the result is released.

After the Result: Verification and Next Steps
If your marks look different from what you expected, you can apply for verification of your answer sheets. It checks for totalling errors and unevaluated or unmarked answers. It is not a full re-evaluation of your answers. Fees, deadlines and the online application process are set by ICAI, so read the official notice before applying.
Whatever be the result:
Pass: Plan for your Articleship and registration for the CA Final examination.
Fail by a few marks: Analyse the papers that have been the major cause of your failure and work on presentation and time management.
Need a repeat attempt: Make your next attempt with conceptual clarity and practice writing.
